The health care system consists of a variety of institutions, organizations, structures, and individuals whose goal is to maintain and promote the health aspects of a society. This poses new challenges, above all for service providers, i.e. hospitals, physicians and pharmacies, but also for payers, which include statutory and private health insurers. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of digitizing healthcare and greatly accelerated this development.

Not only was communication among the various service providers in need of optimization in some cases, but communication between service providers and health insurers, as well as communication between service providers and service recipients, was poorly digitized. Digital consultation hours, online appointment scheduling, or the digital transmission of prescriptions were not possible a few months ago. The options that have emerged in the meantime are often not yet fully developed and sufficiently tested for their safety due to time pressure.

There, enormous sums of money, highly sensitive data, and people’s health are at stake. The consequences of a successful cyberattack can be devastating and extend far beyond healthcare.[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.8″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
