Energy
The energy industry is an essential part of our economy and forms the basis for a wide range of business models. The complexity of the energy industry has been increasing sharply for several years due to a large number of new energy sources. The focus of the industry has shifted primarily to the creation of renewable energy due to the environmental protection measures that have necessarily arisen. Decentralized energy generation and the use of energy storage systems have also been added as focal points.
The most important energy source at present is still crude oil, on which one third of global energy production is based. As a result, control over this finite resource is of global interest. Both states and companies are trying to secure the largest possible quantities for themselves.
Since Germany has only limited oil reserves, about 90 percent of the mineral oil and natural gas it needs is imported. In order to make the German energy supply less dependent on these imports and the constantly rising prices for fossil fuels, the state promotion of renewable energy generation within Germany is one of the primary goals.
